The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) features world-class Pinoy technologies and innovations during its annual National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) this coming July 24-28, 2015 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Dubbed “Philippines: A Science Nation Innovating for Global Competitiveness”, the weeklong event will engage the public in interactive and exciting exhibits, and lively forums and discussions featuring the different DOST projects and programs that are aimed at enhancing every Filipino’s life through science, technology, and innovation.

The 2015 NSTW will then again zero in on the Eight DOST Outcomes which all focus on strengthening the country’s industries, SMEs, human resource capabilities, e-governance, and disaster preparedness.

With the theme Technology-backed Local Industries for Global Competitiveness, the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), as the lead agency for Outcome 3 or Industry Competitiveness, will be showcasing the latest DOST technologies and state of the art facilities that are now helping to boost local industries. Industriyaman is the banner for Outcome 3.

For its anchor exhibit, the Centrally-powered Hybrid Road Train or CRT, a project headed by the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) will be presented. Exhibit goers may go inside the train’s head coach which will be displayed inside the SMX Hall but for a more interactive experience, they can try the free demo ride. Demo rides going around SMX will be conducted everyday at a scheduled time in the morning and one in the afternoon.
