Research Attachment

Description

A program open to non-ASTHRDP/ERDT scholars for funding of thesis and dissertation researches for the completion of M.S. and Ph. D. degrees.

Requirements

Applicant must:

  • Be an on-going M.S. or Ph.D. student
  • Have a GPA of 1.75 or its equivalent for both MS and PhD levels
  • Have an approved proposal, which should be aligned with the National R&D Agenda with priority given to the PCIEERD priority areas

Documentary requirements

  • Letter of request
  • Application form
  • Approved research proposal with proposed budgetary requirement or line-item-budget (LIB) endorsed by adviser/host researcher
  • Acceptance from host researcher
  • Endorsement from the sending institution
  • Research plan of activities
  • Certificate of approval from the Graduate Committee
  • True copy of grades and results of comprehensive/qualifying examinations

Support for conduct of group trainings

Description

A program which provides support for the conduct of specialized trainings in the priority areas of PCIEERD.

Requirements

  • Letter of request

  • Proposed budgetarty requirment of line-item-budget (LIB)
  • Tentative program of activies indicating the topics/titles of presentations and the resource person/s
  • Curriculum vitae of resource person/s

Entitlements

  • Honoraria for resource persons, organizing committee and support staff as per DOST guidelines
  • Transportation of resource persons and local participants
  • Accomodation of resource persons and local participants
  • Meals during the training
  • Supplies and materials to include training kits
  • Printing of training and promotional materials
  • Communications

Attendance to technical trainings, seminars and conferences

Description

A program open to researchers and faculty spciecialized training locally or presenting research outputs. (Trainings abroad may be considered on a case-to-case basis) 

Requirements

Applicant must:

  • Be a faculty/researcher who has served at least three (3) years in his sending institution
  • Not more than 50 years old

Documentary requirements

  • Letter of request
  • Proposed budget requirements and line-item-budget (LIB)
  • Endorsement from the sending institution
  • Acceptance and/or invitation form the host/organizer
  • Abstract of paper, for paper presentation
  • Copy of programme
  • Curriculum Vitae

Faculty immersion

Description

A program open to faculty who wish to gain research experience by engaging in a research project under the mentorship of an expert in an academic or research institution with proven track record in research.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be a faculty/researcher

  • Endorsement from sending institution
  • Acceptance from the Host Researcher
  • Proposed budgetary requirements of line-item-budget (LIB) endoersed by the Host Researcher

  • Monthly stipend
    •  MS - 15,000.00/month
    •  PhD - 20,000.00/month
  • Transportation allowance

  • Honoraria for Host Researcher (8,800.00/month)

A program which provides support for the conduct of seminars/conferences in the priority areas of PCIEERD

  • Application form with terms of reference for speakers, support staff, organizing committee 
  • Proposed budgetary requirements of line-item-budget (LIB)
  • Tentative program of activities indicating the topics/titltes of presentation and the resource person/s
  • Endorsement form the Head of the institution/organization
  • For first-timers, SEC-registration with financial reports

Entitlements

  • Honoraria of speakers based on DOST Guidelines 
  • Transporation of speakers and local participants (not to exceed Php10,000.00)
  • Accommodation of speakers and local participants (not to exceed Php5,000.00)
  • Supplies and materials for the preparation of course materials
  • Printing of proceedings
  • Printing of promotional and informational materials (Maximum grant is Php50,000.00)

ASTHRDP / ERDT Graduate Scholarship externallink

Description

The program is open to individuals who wish to pursue M.S. and Ph.D. in the science and engineering fields.

Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • Filipino citizen
  • Not be more than 45 years old at the time of application
  • Be in good health condition

Documentary requirements

  • Accomplished applilcation form with the checklis of requirements
  • Applications must be made directly to NSC/ERDT schools

Entitlements

  • Actual tuition and other school fees
  • Monthly stipend
    • MS -  Php17,000.00/month
    • PhD - Php25,000.00/month
  • Book Allowance  - Php10,000.00 per academic year

Balik Scientist Program externallink

Description

The program aims to invite foreign-based Filipino scientists, engineers and experts to return to the country to return and work and actively participate in the country's efforts to fact-track the Philippines's science and technology development and consequently, socio-economic progress by providing expert advice and guidance in the conduct of researches, curriuclum development and other related activities.

Documentary requirements

  • Accomplished application form
  • Terms of reference, which should include involvement in DOST research project/s sidgned by the Host Institution
  • Curriculum vitae of expert
  • Endorsement letter from the Host Institution
  • Valid certificate of registration and/or professional license or a temporary special permit fromthe Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC)
  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of diploma/certificates

BSP application should preferably be by invitation as requested by the prospective host.

Entitlements

Long-Term

  • Roundtrip economy class airfare for the expert, spouse and two (2) minor dependents
  • Duty free importation of professional, personal and household effects in accordance with the Section 5 of the Tariff and Customs Code, exemption from payment of travel tax.
  • Host institution to provide salary and other incentives

Short-Term

  • Roundtrip economy class airfare and daily subsistence allowance of USD150.00/day
